Bringing People Together - Application Summary
Here are all the questions we ask in the application form for Bringing People Together. The guidance gives you more details about what you will need to tell us in your answers.
Section 1 - Your project
Please tell us about your project in this section. This is the most important section when it comes to making a decision about whether you will receive funding.
Question | Guidance |
---|---|
What is the name of your project? |
The project name should be simple and to the point. |
How much money do you want from us? |
We expect most of the funding will go to projects that request between £200,000 and £500,000. There will be a smaller number of awards for projects up to a maximum of £1 million. The amount you include here can be an estimate – we’ll discuss this with you in more detail if you’re invited through to the next stage. If you’re only asking us for part of the money, you only need to tell us the amount you need from us. |
How long do you need the money for? |
We can fund projects for up to five years. If your project is not an exact number of years, round up to the nearest year. For example, for an 18-month project, choose two years.
|
What date do you estimate the project will start on? |
We aim to let you know if you’ve been invited through to the next stage of the process within eight weeks of receiving this application. The amount of time it’ll take to receive a decision on the next stage will vary, depending on the size and complexity of your work but is likely to be within around four months. If you're successful, you will agree on a fixed start date with your funding officer. |
Would you prefer to tell us about your idea using words or a video? |
If you choose words, we’ll ask you 3 essay-style questions. If you choose video, we’ll ask for the website address (URL) of your video. You must put the video on a website that we can access, such as YouTube.
|
Enter the full website address (URL) for your video |
Examples of video hosting sites include Dropbox, Google Drive or an unlisted YouTube video. Please make sure the website address is correct so we can watch your video. The full website address will include all the letters and symbols at the beginning of the URL. This includes the http:// or https:// at the beginning. |
What do you want to do? |
How does what you want to do meet one or more of our priorities? You can write up to 1,000 words for this section, but do not worry if you use fewer. |

Section 5 - Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) monitoring information
We want to hear more about the people who’ll benefit from your project and your organisation.
Question | Guidance |
---|---|
Is your project aimed at a specific group of people or is it open to everyone? |
If at least 75% of the people you support share characteristics, then your project is for a specific group. Your specific group may share one or more characteristics. For example, if 80% of the people you work with are female refugees, this means you support a specific group of people. In this example, they share two characteristics — women and refugees. We know this can only be an estimate. It’d be too difficult to work out exactly, especially if this is a new project.
|
Who is your project for? |
If 75% or more of the people supported or benefitting from your project come from one specific group, tell us who they are. If you select an option, we will ask you to tell us more about that group.
