Tell us all the locations the project will run in

In your own words, describe all of the locations that you’ll be running your project in.

This should be the ‘ward’ you will deliver in. For example, Feltham West, Moss Side, Hexthorpe & Balby North, etc.

What is the postcode of where your project will take place?

You should check our website to find if your project location is eligible for funding.

If your project will take place across different locations, please use the postcode of the building or address where most of the project will take place. You must provide the full postcode.

If your activity is not in an eligible postcode, but young people from an eligible postcode will come, use their postcode.

If you do not know the postcode, you can use the Royal Mail Postcode Finder to try and find it.

Tell us the total cost of your project

This is the cost of everything related to your project, even things you're not asking us to fund.

For example:

  • If you're asking us for £40,000 and you're getting £20,000 from another funder to cover additional costs, your total project cost is £60,000.
  • If you're asking us for £80,000 and there are no other costs, your total project cost is £80,000.

How much money do you want from us?

This can be an estimate

Tell us when you'd like to get the money if you're awarded funding?

Don't worry, this can be an estimate.

For example, 09-06-2025

When will you spend the money by?

You have until the 31st March 2026 to spend the money.

What would you like to do?

We want to fund extra hours of youth work that provide young people that might be at risk of anti-social behaviour with more places to go and positive things to do.

Our website has more information on what you can spend the money on

Tell us:

  • how many extra hours of youth work this funding will provide

Remember, these should be out of school hours and run on a regular basis. Give us:

  • the total number of extra hours
  • how regularly they will be offered
  • how many young people you expect to attend each hour
  • what you'd like to deliver with this funding, for example:
    • additional activities you want to provide
    • what additional staff you need and what they will be doing
  • let us know which staff will run these extra hours and why they are best placed to do it.
  • How will you make sure that your activities are ‘open access’

By ‘open access’ we mean young people can attend without previously organising attendance and can leave when they choose. And, there are no other barriers to participation, such as a need to:

  • pay high entry fees

  • commit to longer-term attendance

  • have an existing level of ability in a skill

  • adhere to a certain religion or set of beliefs.

  • Who will benefit

Tell us the age of the young people you’ll be working with.

Tell us about any new young people at risk of anti-social behaviour that you want to reach through this funding. Also, tell us about any young people that you are already working with and that you want to work with for longer. If you want to work in more than one eligible ward let us know here.

  • The difference your project will make How will the extra hours you are asking for improve the following outcomes for young people:
    • improved emotional wellbeing
    • improved life and practical skills
    • feel safer and have access to trusted relationships with adults

You can write between 50 and 800 words for this section.

How does your idea fit in with other local activities?

Tell us:

  • Why this project would especially benefit the young people in your area(s)

You might want to include details of:

  • issues with anti-social behaviour in your area and how your proposed activities will support young people most at risk
  • any gaps in local services for young people at risk of anti-social behaviour that your work will fill
  • other local activities for young people at risk of anti-social behaviour that your work will complement
  • the links you already have in the community (especially other organisations) and to other local activities or services supporting young people at risk of anti-social behaviour, that will help you deliver the project

You can write between 50 and 500 words for this section.

How does your project involve your community?

Describe how this project will ensure that young people have a voice in the service:

By this we mean:

  • young people having a say in what activities you do and how they are run
  • how you’ll seek feedback from young people and use it to make things better
  • opportunities for young people to support their peers
  • young people’s participation at every level

We would love to hear from any young people who currently work with you. You could ask them to complete this section, or to create a video telling us how they are involved and include the link here.

Providing a video is optional and is not required for your application to be considered.

If you choose to provide a written answer, please ask your young people to fill in the section below (and let us know that it was answered by young people). If you choose video, we’ll ask for the website address (URL) of your video. You must put the video on a website that we can access, such as YouTube.

You need to make sure that in the video the young people you work with provide answers to the topics below about how they feel that they have a voice in your service. If you're going to take videos of people taking part in your project, make sure you get their consent first. You'd normally do this with a consent form. Once you have the videos, make sure they're stored safely.

Your video should be no longer than 5 minutes.

How we’ll use your video

We’ll only use your video to help us assess your application and your project idea. It will not be shared publicly.

We’ll only access your video through the website that is hosting it, and our internal system will only have a copy of the link to the video, not the video itself. We’ll watch the video and write a summary of it for our system, and it’ll be viewed by staff looking at your application as well as those participating in our panel. It’s your responsibility to remove the video from the host site after a final decision is made, and please refer to the privacy notice of the provider you use.

If you have any questions about how to submit a video, send us an email at general.enquiries@tnlcommunityfund.org.uk Remember, your video needs to provide us with the following information: how this project will ensure that young people have a voice in the service:

For the young people completing the video, we would like to hear your thoughts. Please cover the following topics in the five-minute video:

  • How do you have a say in what activities are provided, and how activities are run in the organisation.
  • Do you have any examples when you gave feedback to your organisation and it was acted on. How did you give the feedback? what happened with your feedback?
  • Are you able to participate in the organisation at every level? For example can you get involved in the governance of the organisation and/or in designing programmes and how does this happen?
  • How do you think these additional activities will benefit young people in your local area?

Enter the full website address (URL) for your video in the box below

Examples of video hosting sites include Dropbox, Google Drive or an unlisted YouTube video.

Please make sure the website address is correct so we can watch your video. The full website address will include all the letters and symbols at the beginning of the URL. This includes the http:// or https:// at the beginning.

You can write between 50 and 500 words for this section.

Tell us why your organisation is the right one to manage this project

Give us a brief description of your organisation and the work it does.

Explain how your organisation’s experience and connections mean it is best placed to run this project.

Show how this project will add value to the work you do including how these extra hours will complement any other work with young people you currently deliver (this project might be a new activity or an extension of something you already do)

  • Describe how you currently engage with young people effectively
For example, can you tell us about a time when you showed flexibility in your delivery to enable a young person/group to access your service where they otherwise would not have been able to.
  • Explain how you will engage young people in this project, including any who do not currently access your activities.
  • Explain how you keep people safe, respond to safeguarding incidents and promote a culture of safeguarding within your organisation
  • Outline how you might sustain this project after our funding ends.

Include any fundraising plans you have or partnerships you are planning to sustain this work.

You can write between 50 and 700 words for this section.

Section 7 - Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) monitoring information

We want to hear more about the people who’ll benefit from your project and your organisation.

Question Guidance

Is your project aimed at a specific group of people or is it open to everyone?

If at least 75% of the people you support share characteristics, then your project is for a specific group.

Your specific group may share one or more characteristics. For example, if 80% of the people you work with are female refugees, this means you support a specific group of people. In this example, they share two characteristics — women and refugees.
